Great October Happenings

Community outreach has been difficult to say the least with COVID, but the Cape Atlantic Coalition for Health is partnering with a variety of organizations to bring multiple events to the community this October.  Below are some quick tidbits… More detailed information is under our events section.  Check them out!

Cancer Thriving and Surviving:  A Virtual Workshop Series
This workshop series focuses on the management of many topics that people go through in regards to cancer and after cancer.  Examples of the material consist of fatigue management, exercise and fitness, managing pain, healthy sleep, living with uncertainty, problem solving, communication, difficult emotions, and more.  Begins October 13th in partnership with a variety of coalitions just like us.

HPV & Cancer Prevention:  A Virtual Workshop for Parents
This one time workshop focuses on HPV, how its contracted, and what you can do to keep your child healthy.  Think about it… if you could prevent cancer would you?  This event is on October 22nd in partnership with Shore Medical Center.

Breast Cancer Screening Event
Shore Medical Center and Advanced Shore Imaging are partnering together to provide screening mammograms on October 24th for women who cannot afford to get this important annual screening.  If you are uninsured call 609-653-3484 to see how we can help.

Cancer Prevention 101:  A Virtual Workshop
This one time workshop focuses on how to talk to your doctor about cancer, cancer screenings, risk factors, self-exams, and cancer prevention.  Join us to learn more on protecting you and your loved one.  This event is on October 27th in partnership with Shore Medical Center.

Cape Atlantic Coalition for Health is a regional chronic disease prevention coalition funded by the New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Cancer Control and Prevention. Our purpose is to reduce the state's cancer burden and improve health outcomes for people with, or at risk for, cancer and other chronic diseases in Atlantic and Cape may counties.
